ROBERT E. KRAHULIK
Mr. Krahulik's experience has encompassed the following areas: residential real estate, commercial real estate, real estate lending and finance, real estate titles and title insurance, leasing, foreclosures, commercial, corporate, land use, planning and zoning, municipal, estate planning and administration, special education, state and federal regulation of banks, thrift institutions and their holding companies, and board of director governance matters.
Mr. Krahulik graduated from Siena College in 1987, cum laude, obtaining a B.B.A. in accounting and as a member of the Honor Society Alpha Kappa Alpha in recognition of his participation in a multitude of extracurricular activities. He attended Albany Law School of Union University and in 1990 graduated, cum laude, obtaining a juris doctor in law. While at Albany, he acted as a Note and Comment Editor for the Albany Law Review and acted as a Research and Writing Assistant to Professor Harold Dubroff, LL.B., LL.M. in the area of estate planning and wealth transmission.
Mr. Krahulik began his career in 1989 as an associate attorney with the New York law firm of Cahill, Gordon & Reindel working in their corporate and securities law department before joining his father in the practice of law at Beattie & Krahulik in 1991.
He has served as the Village Attorney, Village of Greenwood Lake, Zoning Board of Appeals Attorney, Town of Chester, Zoning Board of Appeals Attorney, Town of Wawayanda. He is local counsel to WVT Communications (Warwick Telephone Company), St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick, New York, Community Hospital in Port Jervis, New York, Watchtower.
In 2000, he was appointed General Counsel of Warwick Community Bancorp and its subsidiaries, The Warwick Savings Bank and the Towne Center Bank. Mr. Krahulik's practice involves experience in connection with advising on corporate governance issues in relation the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, closely held bank governance issues, acquisition and sales of banks, bank holding companies and thrift institutions, branch acquisitions, securities law compliance issues, Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (REPA) compliance, loan syndicates and participations and regulatory compliance issues. He serves as local counsel to Provident Bank, Columbia Savings Bank and Sussex Bank.
Mr. Krahulik has extensive experience in residential lending and title insurance practice and acts as Examining Counsel and as an agent for Ticor Title Incusrance Company. He has extensive experience in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate including real estate acquisition and finance, commercial and residential land development, 1031 land exchanges, low income and affordable housing and land use and zoning. He regularly appears before local planning boards and zoning boards of appeal in connection with land subdivision and site plan approval applicants.
Mr. Krahulik has served as a member of the Title and Transfer Committee of the Real Property Section of the New York State Bar Association, the Banking Regulation Committee and Real Estate and Mortgage Committee of the Community Banker's Association of New York State and formerly as a Director of the Hudson Valley Mortgage Bankers Association.
Mr. Krahulik is an active member of the local community serving as Trustee of SUNY Orange/Orange County Community College, President of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, Trustee, Secretary and Treasurer of the Orange County Citizen's Foundation where he also serves on the Land Use Committee and Orange Pathways Committee, Trustee of Orange County United Way, Chairman of the Orange County Municipal Park Advisory Committee, Director of Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center. He is a graduate of Leadership Orange.
